Laurent Dehors clarinets / François Thuillier tuba / Franck Vaillant drums and harmony orchestra
Laurent Dehors (saxophones, clarinets, bagpipes) and François Thuillier (tuba) have been working together for 25 years in a variety of formations, and were keen to share a common repertoire. The virtuosity and personalities of these two exceptional musicians will open up new horizons for the members of the Orchestre d'Harmonie, who, by confronting an unusual repertoire, will emerge nourished by new energy.
Having had the pleasure of playing in a wind band in his youth, Laurent Dehors knows how to bring out the best in the different sections, giving the forty musicians the opportunity to blossom around a composition that is both demanding and jubilant, ranging from solo to "explosive" tutti. The percussion section will have the privilege of playing alongside Franck Vaillant, drummer with Laurent Dehors Trio.
OBJECTIVES :
- Enable students not only to perform an original work, but also to work and talk directly with the composer.
- Enable students to meet, play and exchange ideas with 3 major artists on the contemporary jazz scene.
- Enable collective pedagogical work by bringing together different departments of the conservatory as well as the Harmonie orchestra.
- Create one (or more) concert event(s) to realize the work.

PROJECT ORGANIZATION :
- The project will be organized as follows:
- 2 rehearsals in the presence of all the musicians with composer Laurent Dehors in a large hall such as the Harmonie or auditorium, using the entire space.
- 1 partial and tutti pre-general with the 3 soloists.
- 1 general tutti with the 3 soloists at the concert venue
- On-stage concert(s)
